Brandi Glanville Says Son Mason Cibrian Went into Modeling for the Money: I Was ‘Cutting Him Off

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alumni informs PEOPLE during BravoCon 2022. She says that her twins -Mason Edward Cibrian, 19, and Jake Austin Cibrian, 15, Mason Edward Cibrian, 19 as well as Jake Austin Cibrian, 15 who she has with her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian — are “the loves of my life.”

“Jake has straight As. He’s in Europe right now with this class visiting, and he’s going to Paris, London, and Munich, Germany. And then Mason signed this huge [modeling] contract,” she says, laughing about how she believed it was the time that he was offered an opportunity to work.

“I said get a job at Trader Joe’s,” she continues laughing. ” “It’s time to get back to work” is what I said.”

Glanville claims the Mason (who measures at 6-foot-4 been approached for modeling gigs “several times” in the past, but “didn’t want to do it cause he’s a pretty private person.”

“He has a really unique look. He’s really tall,” she says about her son, noting that he is the recipient of “compliments constantly.”

However, she acknowledges “I was kind of shocked when he decided to do it.” It was announced on Tuesday that revealed that Mason -who is studying in the second semester at college — has signed an exclusive agreement to DT Model Management.

If asked what led him to make the decision The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip star immediately responds, “Money.” She goes on to say, “I told him I’m cutting him off. I’m like, ‘You’re 18 — time to work.’ “

Glanville who started modeling at the age of 16 years old, says Mason was a “cool cat” since signing with the agency which has worked alongside Paris Hilton, Dylan Penn (daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright) Ireland Basinger Baldwin (daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger) and many others.

“He kind of knows what he is doing,” Glanville informs PEOPLE. But that doesn’t stop Glanville from becoming a mother who’s hands-on.

She also says that modeling can have the potential to be “a little dangerous.” For one thing, Glanville explains, “I was in it and, you know, it can be a little scary.”

Glanville has been raving about Mason on Instagram particularly when he was heading to college. She frequently posts photos of Mason and his friends, including one of her visits to Mason at school and bringing her dog. She also posted a sweet photo of 2021 celebrating Mason’s 18th birthday, and wrote the following message on her Instagram account, “Happy Birthday Mason! You might be legally an adult, but you’ll always remain my baby boy. I am so proud of you.”
