The OnePlus Watch was an unsatisfactory first product by the company. It was widely criticized for its poor user experience as well as its inaccurate tracking of steps. The BBK-owned company has never dipped its toes into the smartwatch market after that, but it did not completely quit the market also. OnePlus launched the fitness watch in India however it was not as great as other comparable offerings on the market. Today, 1.5 years after the launch of the first Watch the company is launching its second smartwatch as well as its first wearable with the Nord brand name after several weeks of speculation. few weeks of teasers The OnePlus Nord Watch.
The wearable sports a 1.78-inch rectangular AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate as well as the brightness is rated at 500 nits. OnePlus claims that the chassis is IP68-certified and weatherproof and waterproof. The straps were inherited from the OnePlus Watch and are made of soft materials.
To track your health the watch comes with an accelerometer with three axes, a heart-rate scanner, and a SpO2 sensor. Beyond the normal indicators like steps taken or calories burned, the watch utilizes the data collected to monitor your stress levels and monitor the sleep cycle. It can also track over 105 workouts and physical activities like yoga and cricket. The system will detect your workout automatically for walks and runs however, you have to be able to enable it prior to other exercises.
Nord Watch Nord Watch connects to your phone via Bluetooth 5.2 via an N Health companion app. You can access all information collected and manage your health with the app. You can also customize the messages you want to receive via the device.
OnePlus claims that the Nord Watch can last for 10 days with a single charge, and as long as 30 days on standby due to the battery that is 230mAh inside. One of the main reasons for the remarkable battery life is the fact that the watch is not running Wear OS but instead comes with RTOS. This means that, even though you can access a variety of watch faces, there aren’t any third-party applications to install or experiment with. OnePlus states that it has over 100 watch faces available, however, you are only able to access five designs directly from your watch anytime. To access the rest you’ll need to use the companion app that comes with your phone.
The OnePlus Nord Watch is available in Midnight Black and Deep Blue shades. It works with Android 6.0+ phones as well as iPhones with iOS 11 or higher. Contrary to its original smartwatch, which was sold within the US, OnePlus is launching the Nord Watch only in India in India, where you can buy it for just Rs 5000 ($68). In light of the way this OnePlus Watch was received, the availability of the Nord Watch is not likely to be extended outside the country.
