Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has sent his best wishes for the Mid-Autumn Festival to China Media Group (CMG) for the Mid-Autumn Festival on Thursday.
“Thank you very much for the delicious mooncakes that you kindly sent me. Your thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated,” Bach wrote in a letter addressed to CMG the president, Shen Haixiong.
“As the people of China prepare to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, I wish you and your family much happiness and prosperity. At this time of harvest in the middle of autumn, allow me to thank you and everyone at CMG for your commitment and support for the Olympic Movement. Wishing you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival, I remain.”
Bach’s letter was a response to Shen’s wish to him to celebrate his Mid-Autumn Day earlier. Shen declared that CMG will look into more innovative methods of making programs and broadcasting as well as communications concepts to showcase the beauty that is the Olympics and the thrill of sport and make bigger contribution to the advancement of the Olympic Movement and take this Olympic Spirit to greater highs.
CMG has reached an agreement with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) to provide an international feed for table tennis, gymnastics badminton, sport climbing and table tennis during the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

Bach was elected for an eight-year term as IOC President during the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires on 10 September 2013. Bach was elected with 49 votes during his final vote, which gave Bach the majority required in order to win the election. Bach will succeed Jacques Rogge who served as IOC President from 2001 until 2013.[14Bach will be eligible to run for president from the time of 2001 until 2013. Bach is qualified to run for a third four-year term starting at the next 134th IOC Session from 2019 to 2025.[1515

2013 IOC presidential election
In a session of the 1337th session of the International Olympic Committee on 10 March 2021, Bach was re-elected to another four-year presidency. Bach, who is 67, was reelected with an 83-1 majority of 94 valid votes at the session that was held in virtual reality. [19] It is Bach’s last term in the role of IOC President, since IOC rules limit the president’s term to 8 years, with a renewal every 4 years. [20]
